This chapter deals with the topic of warm ups.
Warm ups are the foundation of every successful trumpet practice session and deserve special attention. Unlike other instruments, playing the trumpet uses your facial and respiratory muscles in a very specific way that is rarely required in everyday life. A well-planned warm up not only optimally prepares your lips, tongue, and breathing, but also helps you avoid bad habits. A conscious warm-up also promotes body awareness.
In the following exercises, you will learn step by step how to optimally prepare your body for playing. Take this time consciously - it is an investment in your long-term learning success and will help you play music in a more relaxed and efficient manner.
Plan 5-10 minutes for your warm up every day—this time will pay off in the form of faster progress and greater enjoyment of playing.

Breathing and general body warm up
A good warm up helps you to connect your mind and body.
These exercises help to activate not only your breathing but your entire body.
Playing the trumpet and practicing requires us to focus particularly on our bodily functions. To break out of our “everyday perception” and achieve this focus, a warm-up that strengthens body awareness is helpful.
Do not overdo them, and above all, remember that you never need that much air when playing the trumpet (Sidefact: the two guys are tuba players). So consider these exercises more as a short fitness program - unrelated to playing the trumpet but very well related to your breathing and body awareness.
